Josh Groban has announced a new set of dates for his Awake U.S. Tour 2007. Groban will start out the summer with a 14-city swing through Europe and the U.K., making stops in cities like Amsterdam, Dublin, Paris, London and Zurich.

The second leg of his North American tour kicks off July 17 at the Bi Lo Center in Greenville, S.C., and will hit 27 arenas in the U.S and Canada, including Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., Wachovia Arena in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., Milwaukee's Bradley Center, Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Seattle's Key Arena, the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore., and Denver's Pepsi Center.

Pre-sale tickets for Friends of Josh Groban, the singer's fan club, begin April 25, and include an exclusive VIP package available to members only. The package includes a ticket for a premium seat (located in rows 5-15 on the floor), and lots of extras.

Regular pre-sales through Groban's web site begin on April 26 in certain markets with others going on sale in the following weeks. Details are available at the site.

Josh Groban on American Idol's "AI Gives Back"

Josh will performing live on April 25th on the American Idol special "American Idol Gives Back" on the Fox Television Network. Performing with Josh will be The African Children’s Choir (see our post below). This special show is expected to be its largest viewing to date with nearly 60 million viewers.

Adult-contempo crooner John Groban will be unleashing his dulcet tones on a local audience this summer. The pop-classical sensation will play MTS Centre on Aug. 18, according to Pollstar and Groban's website. Ticket info is TBA, but Groban's site suggests a pre-sale will begin Thursday, May 3. A protege of producer David Foster, Groban will tour in support of his CD Awake, which features Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Herbie Hancock and Imogen Heap.

Josh Groban is heading to Calgary.
The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter will play one show at the Saddledome Aug. 15 as part of the second leg of his North American tour, announced yesterday.
Groban, who is touring in support of his multi-lingual CD Awake, will begin his trek across the U.S. July 11 in South Carolina before making his way to Canada in mid-August.
Other Canadian dates include Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver.
It is not yet known when tickets for the Canadian shows will go on sale.
The 26-year-old baritone will be making a special appearance on next week's American Idol before his European tour begins in May.

Josh Groban is feeling "Awake" and ready to launch the second leg of his tour both in the U.S. and in Canada. The soulful singer will begin his trek across the country on July 11 in South Carolina. He will then make his way to Canada in mid-August.

Groban is out on the road to promote his 2006 album "Awake," which includes 13 songs in three different languages and features the hit single "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)." The 26-year-old can be heard singing in English, Spanish and Italian on the record. More than 1 million copies of the record have been sold since December.

According to his official website, the singer says the songs from "Awake" are a reflection of what's inside his heart and soul, adding that he hopes his fans will enjoy embarking on "this new journey" with him.

JoshGroban.com quotes him as saying, "I learned from touring that my fans are really open-minded, musical, intelligent people and I feel like they want to come on this new journey with me.

"The music still sounds like it's coming from my heart and my soul and my voice. That is always the most important thing to me. My goal on 'Awake' was to create the music and find the best people to help me create it."

Before hitting the road, Groban will make a special appearance on next week's "American Idol."

Josh Groban to launch second leg of 'Awake' tour

Josh Groban, who is touring the world in support of his third album, "Awake," has added a second North American leg to the jaunt.

Following a European trek from May to June, the pop/classical singer will crisscross the US and Canada once again, beginning July 17 in Greenville, SC, and stretching through August. World music songstress Angelique Kidjo will again fill the support slot. Details are listed below.

Groban wrote and produced several songs on "Awake," which hit stores in November. The multiplatinum-selling singer collaborated with several artists on the album, including Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Dave Matthews, Glen Ballard, Eric Mouquet, John Ondrasik (Five for Fighting), Marius DeVries, David Foster, Imogen Heap and Herbie Hancock.

The 13 tracks on the record, a few of which are streaming at Groban's MySpace page, are sung in Italian, Spanish and English. "Six years ago, a little-known performer had a small role in the season finale of TV's “Ally McBeal,” singing a ballad titled “You're Still You.” Combining youthful sincerity with a strong voice, he was an immediate hit with viewers, prompting 8,000 e-mails and an invitation to return the next season.

“I still get stopped on the street by people saying, 'Are you the Ally McBeal guy?' ” said Josh Groban, now a 26-year-old pop superstar. “Being on that show was one of the important steppingstones in my career. The power of TV plucked me out of obscurity.”

With millions of fans – including Oprah Winfrey, who has had him on her show – Groban is America's answer to Andrea Bocelli, a master of love songs who has made crossover a calling.

He's a favorite on adult-contemporary radio. And though his critics dismiss much of his music as kitsch, the lanky Los Angeles native is a multiplatinum recording artist whose most recent album, “Awake,” has sold almost 2 million copies."

His first Christmas album will arrive in time for the holidays, which should please his legions of admirers, known as Grobanites.

There’s been no shortage of big moments during pop singer Josh Groban’s career the past few years. He’s sung at the Olympics, the Super Bowl and the Vatican.
