Hear-The-World Exhibition
NEW YORK, May 2 (UPI) -- Canadian musician Bryan Adams has photographed numerous celebrities for a Hear the World exhibit now open in New York.
Hear the World is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of good hearing and the impact of hearing loss.
The opening of Adams' exhibit coincides with the beginning of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
The exhibit features photographs Adams took of celebrities like Mick Jagger, Amy Winehouse, Placido Domingo, Joss Stone, Lindsay Lohan and Annie Lennox -- all of whom are seen in a conscious pose of "hearing," the organization said.
"I'm excited to lend my support to such an important cause," Adams said in a statement. "As a musician, I'm naturally sympathetic to an initiative dedicated to helping people appreciate and preserve an individual's sense of sound. I hope this exhibit helps to remind people of the tremendous value of their hearing."
The exhibit is open free to the public for two weeks in Manhattan's Meatpacking District at 413-415 West 14th Street. After it closes in New York, the exhibit will travel to Germany and Switzerland.
The photos will eventually be auctioned online with the net proceeds going to the Hear the World Foundation.
